Freshman students must have an IGS of at least 302 to be admitted to the program this year. Over the past five years, the minimum IGS for admission has fluctuated around 315. The College of Natural Sciences also has an admission process for students who do not meet the established IGS requirement but demonstrate research potential through their portfolio or possess exceptional talents, as assessed through an interview. Admission is subject to space availability in the program for the requested year.

Admission by Exceptional Abilities and Talents: – The University of Puerto Rico acknowledges the need to facilitate admission to a limited number of students based on exceptional abilities and talents. The admission application provides the space so you can specify your interest in being considered for this type of admission. A minimum high school GPA of 2.00 and the College Board test results are required in these cases. Also, the applying students must have an IGS of no more than 20 points below the IGS required for the program of interest. The selection of these students is very competitive, and the institution’s interests and academic offers available on the campus to which they are being applied are taken into consideration.
