About us

Welcome to the Department of Environmental Sciences at UPR Rio Piedras.

Our aim is to apply an integrated, quantitative, and interdisciplinary focus to the study of natural and human systems and provide the student with the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully advance in an academic, industrial, or government setting. The academic program encompasses disciplines from the physical sciences (e.g., biology, mathematics, chemistry, physics, geology, and engineering) and the social sciences (e.g., public health, sociology, economics, geography, public policy, education, and planning).

The Graduate Program offers a Master’s in Sciences and Doctor in Philosophy in Environmental Sciences.
