Convocatoria: SaBRe interships opportunities – Summer 2026

The SaBRe (Sargassum BioRefinery) project invites undergraduate students interested in hands-on research related to the ongoing Sargassum crisis to apply for a summer research experience in a SaBRe lab or industrial partner.
What is SaBRe? We are a multi-institutional team of researchers aiming to turn the Sargassum accumulating in the Caribbean into research, technological, and commercial opportunities. Our research areas include Sargassum Biology, Sargassum Processing, Sargassum Deconstruction, Sargassum Chemical and Biochemical Conversion, and Techno-Economic/Life-Cycle Analyzes of Sargassum Biorefineries. How to apply
Email a personal statement, a statement of the graduate degree you would like to pursue, a CV or résumé, unofficial transcripts, and two to three references (including name, position, institution, and email) to the following two email addresses: liz.diaz2@upr.edu and zc6846@princeton.edu. You will also be asked to apply to specific internship programs depending on the institution and project you are interested in.
