The deadline for submitting abstracts for the Robert I. Larus Award Graduate Poster Competition has been extended until September 5, 2010.

The Robert I. Larus Award is presented to a graduate student for his/her outstanding research.  

The winner is selected from among competing students presenting posters at the American Association for the Advancement of Science Caribbean Division 2010 Annual Conference that will be held onSeptember 24-25, 2010 at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus.

Interested parties must REGISTER (see below) AND SEND an abstract to Dr. Denny S. Fernández del Viso, gamezdenny.fernandez@upr.edu. Abstract must be RECEIVED no later than September 5.

The text of the abstract should not exceed 250 words and the title is limited to 45 characters,

followed by address and e-mail.  The abstract must contain: (a) specific questions, hypothesis, and objectives, (b) methodologies, (c) results already obtained, and (d) conclusions.

The poster should be 90 cm x 120 cm and will be defended in English and the winner must be prepared to travel abroad. The winner receives an award and all expenses covered to present the work at the AAAS Annual Meeting on February 17 - 21, 2011, at Washington, District of Columbia.
