The Chemistry Undergraduate Program of the University of Puerto Rico at the Río Piedras Campus was established in the 1943, and has evolved into our current academic program of a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. In the last five years, the program has admitted an average of 80 students per year, resulting in over than 300 students currently accepted.The number of chemistry graduates has also increased from an average of 43.8 students during the 1997-2001 period, to an average of 56.4 students during the 2002-2006 period.This number of chemistry graduates puts our Department of Chemistry among the top twenty departments with most graduates compared to universities in the United States.
