Short Bio

My name is Haley Arbon and I grew up in Syracuse, New York. I graduated from Fordham University with a degree in Biology and a minor in Bioinformatics. At UPR-RP, I am working in Dr. Tugrul Giray’s lab studying honeybees (A. mellifera). My project includes identifying virome diversity and investigating the antiviral responses in honeybees. After the RaMP-UP program, I plan to pursue a PhD to continue developing my bioinformatics skills and researching gene expressions. My hobbies include crafting, especially with textiles, and reading.

A fun fact or hobby: I love being outside: sitting, hiking, and learning new plant names.
