It is a requirement for admission that all student applicants be proficient in both Spanish and English. Most of the courses are taught in Spanish. English proficiency is required to be able to complete coursework successfully, for all textbooks are in English, and many (or all) questions included on tests in major courses are in English. The Program has established the following strategies to support students’ capabilities for the RD Exam approval:
- At least one test in the semester will be administered with Moodle Learning Platform using Program-owned laptops and proctored by each professor.
- Tests must be time-restricted allowing an approximate 2 minutes per question with no-backtracking option that will simulate the conditions during the RD Exam.
- Nutrition major courses must include a summative assessment or special project at the end of the semester.
- Tests will integrate English questions. Professors may choose to have all questions in English.
- Faculty may request access to a pool of review questions that resemble the RD-exam questions.
