At the institution level, the Academic Policy for Graduate Studies (Certification No. 95, Academic Year 2019-2020, Section V.D.3.e, page 25) of the Río Piedras Campus Academic Senate, stipulates the conditions to grant credit of courses approved at other institutions within or outside the University of Puerto Rico. Graduate programs may accept a maximum of one third of required degree credits, subject to criteria established by the UPR-RP college or school’s graduate committee. Courses must be approved with a minimum B grade or its equivalent, in a period no greater than 5 years prior to admission and may not have been granted to a lower-level degree. At the MSND-SEL level, prior practicum or internship credits, courses or work experience will not be accepted as a substitute for Supervised Experiential Learning courses.
