The Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics is a four-year degree program (134 credits) offered in the College of Natural Sciences, University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, and is unique within the UPR system. The program was founded in 1930 under the College of Education and moved to the College of Natural Sciences in 2010. The Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) refers to the 2.5 year professional curricular sequence (45 credits) with a maximum of 4 years allowed for completion (150%). The other 89 credits in the Bachelor degree are part of the university’s general education (43 credits), mathematics and sciences (36 credits), and free electives (10 credits) curriculum.
