About Us

Increasing Diversity in Genomics for the Next generation (IDGeNe) is a program from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus of the NIH-GREAT.  A research experience focused on areas associated with Genomics by providing academic and professional activities that will prepare a new generation of promising students for this growing biomedical field.

Timeline

  • First Summer: Research experience at UPR-Río Piedras
  • First Academic Year (UPR-RP)
  • Second Summer: Research experience in the USA
  • Second and last Academic Year (UPR-RP)

Student Selection

Undergraduate students at the UPR-Río Piedras Campus, from any of the Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, or Education departments.

Undergrads interested in topics that can be biological, medical, computational, ethical, social, or legal, among others, but that address important aspects of the genomic field, as part of their future career goals
