About Us

Increasing Diversity in Genomics for the Next generation (IDGeNe) is a program from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus of the NIH-GREAT. 

IDGeNe is research experience focused on areas associated with Genomics by providing academic and professional activities that will prepare a new generation of promising students for this growing biomedical field.

A research training opportunity for undergraduate students that are in a bachelor’s degree from any of the Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, or Education departments at the UPR-RP and have an interest in topics that can be biological, medical, computational, ethical, social, or legal, among others, but that address important aspects of the genomic field, as part of their future career goals.

  • First Summer: Research experience at UPR-Río Piedras
