Sequencing and Genotyping Facility

The Sequencing and Genotyping Facility (SGF) located in JGD 214 is a low-cost, fee-for-service facility designed to provide students and researchers in Puerto Rico with access to state-of-the-art equipment for collecting high-quality sequence and genotype data. Our sequencing services include full service sequencing and ready to sequence services (visit our web site for specifics). We also offer fragment analysis data generation and personalized support to our users. Our main equipment (ABI 3130xl) has the resources needed for running a wide variety of sequencing and fragment analysis applications such as direct sequencing, primer-walking sequencing, plasmid sequencing, AFLPs, RFLPs, Microsatellite analysis, LOH, LH-PCR, SNP validation and SNP screening. We also offer workshops and trainings at a low cost to students and researchers from every campus and department associated to the University of Puerto Rico (UPR), INBRE/AABRE associated institutions, and other academic and research institutions in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean region.
