Ph.D. Students receive fellowships

Ph.D students Edgardo Santiago Rivera (Biology) and Heriberto Carbia-Gutierrez (Applied mathematics) received a RISE-NIH and NASA fellowship, respectively, to work on their projects. Mr. Santiago studies the wnt pathway and more specifically the gene regulatory network of WntA and Mr. Carbia-Gutierrez utilizes artificial intelligence (machine learning) to recapitulate a genome to phenome paradigms.
