My name is Norangelik Quiles Soto.<\/strong> I am from Lares, Puerto Rico. My <\/span>mayor<\/span> is in coastal marine biology, I graduated from University of Puerto Rico, Humacao Campus. We<\/span> are characterizing bacteria from honey bee<\/span> brood caps using a high-throughput plate reader (Tecan Infinite 200 Pro). We optimize bacterial growth conditions by controlling temperature, shaking, and OD measurements. Additionally, we use a DIY imaging system to analyze colony morphology.<\/span><\/span>

Honey bee<\/span> colonies rely on beneficial bacterial communities for brain maturation and behavior regulation. Our study focuses on characterizing probiotic bacteria from brood caps to <\/span>establish<\/span> a bacterial library that can aid in <\/span>honey bee<\/span> health and resilience.
