Project title: Investigating a potential neural circuit involved in alcohol tolerance development in D. melanogaster
Project Description: Tolerance development of alcohol has been implicated in alcohol use disorder (AUD). Certain aspects of epigenetic changes and physiology involved in alcohol tolerance have been evaluated, but identification of a specific circuit involved in this process has yet to be identified. I am interested in characterizing a potential circuit involved in the development of tolerance using D. melanogaster as a model.
