To be admitted to the Environmental Science Graduate Program, the applicant must fulfill<br \/>\nthe following requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Bachelor\u2019s or Master&#8217;s in Science degree (or its equivalent) with a major in<br \/>\nEnvironmental Science, Biology, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry,<br \/>\nor Engineering from an accredited university. Students that do not have a Bachelor\u2019s<br \/>\ndegree in Environmental Science may be admitted conditionally until approval of the<br \/>\nundergraduate Introduction to Environmental Science course with a minimum grade of B<br \/>\nduring their first semester. This does not apply to students who have taken the course<br \/>\n(or equivalent) as part of their previous degrees. Students with a Bachelor\u2019s or Master&#8217;s from an accredited university but not majoring in any of the previously mentioned disciplines can apply for admission to the graduate program once they have met the following requirements with a minimum 3.0-grade point average: <em><strong>one year of General Biology, one year of General Chemistry, Calculus I,\u00a0 one <\/strong><\/em><em><strong>year of Physics with Calculus, one semester of statistics for science majors and the<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong>Introduction to Environmental Science course.<\/strong><\/em> \u00a0 However, satisfactory approval of<br \/>\nthese courses do not guarantee admission to the program.<\/li>\n<li>A minimum general grade point average (including all courses taken) of 3.00 (on a scale<br \/>\nof 0-4) and a minimum grade point average in science of 3.0 at the undergraduate level.<\/li>\n<li>Two official copies of their most recent academic transcript.<\/li>\n<li>Three letters of recommendation from professors with whom they have conducted<br \/>\nresearch or taken science courses.<\/li>\n<li>A statement of research interests that mentions a specific research question and a<br \/>\npotential advisor from the Department of Environmental Sciences. The corresponding admission or readmission fee must be paid at the time of submitting the application or before the admission deadline. This payment is non-refundable and can be made over the Internet using ATM (ATH) from Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, Visa, or Master Card. The applicant must confirm whether or not she is going to study at the Campus through the electronic form for acceptance.
