Griebenow<\/span><\/h2><p>El Dr. Kai H. Griebenow es natural de Jever, Friesland (Frisia), Germany. El Dr. Griebenow finaliz\u00f3 en\u00a0 1989 su bachillerato en Biolog\u00eda en la Universidad de Marburg y completo su Ph.D. en 1992 del Instituto Max-Planck de Qu\u00edmica de la Radiaci\u00f3n y la Universidad de D\u00fcsseldorf por su trabajo en la organizaci\u00f3n de pigmentos en la bacteria verde flexible <em>Chloroflexus aurantiacus<\/em>, por este trabajo recibi\u00f3 la Medalla Otto-Hahn y se uni\u00f3 al Instituto de Tecnolog\u00eda de Massachusetts (MIT) como becario postdoctoral en 1993\u00a0 donde estudio la Mutag\u00e9nesis Combinatoria, Bibliotecas Gen\u00e9ticas y en esta misma instituci\u00f3n de 1994-1996 se vincul\u00f3 como Asociado Postdoctoral y estudi\u00f3 la estructura y estabilidad de prote\u00ednas. El Dr. Griebenow ha recibido financiaci\u00f3n durante los \u00faltimos 20 a\u00f1os del National Institutes of Health (NIH), el Departamento de Defensa de Estados Unidos, el Departamento de Educaci\u00f3n de Estados Unidos., La Fundaci\u00f3n Nacional de Ciencias\u200b (NSF) de Estados Unidos y de la Administraci\u00f3n Nacional de Aeron\u00e1utica y el Espacio (NASA). El Dr. Griebenow ha ense\u00f1ado algunos cursos que incluyen Bioqu\u00edmica, Bioqu\u00edmica Avanzada, T\u00f3picos Especiales en Estructura de Prote\u00ednas, Formulaci\u00f3n y Entrega de Prote\u00ednas, Qu\u00edmica General y Laboratorio de Qu\u00edmica General. Actualmente, el Dr. Griebenow es profesor e investigador del Departamento de Qu\u00edmica de la Universidad de Puerto Rico del Recinto de Rio Piedras y entre sus intereses de investigaci\u00f3n se encuentra la glicosilaci\u00f3n qu\u00edmica de prote\u00ednas y efecto sobre la estabilidad; din\u00e1mica, estructura y funci\u00f3n de las prote\u00ednas; enzimolog\u00eda no acuosa, sensores amperom\u00e9tricos nanoestructurados basados en enzimas, entrega dirigida de prote\u00ednas farmac\u00e9uticas a partir de nanopart\u00edculas, fotos\u00edntesis de algas tropicales, biodiesel y biocombustibles; y educaci\u00f3n qu\u00edmica.\u00a0<\/p><h2><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>Researcher: <\/strong>Dr. Kai H. Griebenow<\/span><\/h2><p>Dr. Kai H. Griebenow is native of Jever, Friesland (Frisia), Germany. Dr. Griebenow completed his bachelor&#8217;s degree in Biology Diploma at the University of Marburg in 1989 and completed his Ph.D. in 1992 from the Max-Planck Institute for Radiation Chemistry and the University of D\u00fcsseldorf for work on the pigments organization in the green flexible bacterium <em>Chloroflexus aurantiacus<\/em>, for this work he received the Otto-Hahn Medal and joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a postdoctoral fellow in 1993 where he studied Combinatorial Mutagenesis, Genetic Libraries and in this same institution from 1994-1996 he was linked as a Postdoctoral Associate and studied the Protein Structure and Stability. Dr. Griebenow has received funding over the past 20 years from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the US Department of Defense, the US Department of Education, the US National Science Foundation (NSF), and of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Dr. Griebenow has taught a number of courses including Biochemistry, Advanced Biochemistry, Special Topics in Protein Structure, Protein Formulation and Delivery, General Chemistry, and General Chemistry Laboratory.
