Explore ecosystems in surface waters, soils, coasts, and the urban environment through Environmental Analysis (AA) courses.

In this second stage of the program, participants will have the opportunity to learn research and study techniques within the emphasized environments. They will be asked for a space of 5 hours in the academic program (that is, one hour before and one hour after the course schedule). Given the need for transportation to the study area.

Participants:

1- They enroll in Environmental Analysis courses on the topics of Surface Water, Coasts, Soils, and Urban Environment during their first two semesters at CIAM high school. These courses count as directed electives in high school.

2- They will receive transportation support to and from the study locations. Most of the materials required for practical experiences will be provided. For example, access to the internet and a laptop, iPad, tablet, and/or smartphone are required since many online applications will be used. These are not provided by the project.

3- They will receive guidance and mentoring throughout the semester from professors and graduate students at the Río Piedras Campus.

  • Note: Environmental Analysis courses have a quota of 10 spaces.
