Readmission

To be eligible for readmission to the College of Natural Sciences, a student must have a minimum GPA of 2.00, and have priority students that were classified in our College before .

 

Reclassification/Transfer/Students from Outside

Requirements for reclassification (change of major or college) for students from UPR System Units (students not articulated) and outside UPR System (transfer) for Academic Years 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 .

--To have the following averages for all subgraduate careers, except Physics

  • GPA-General Point Average 3.00
  • Average in Sciences and Mathematics 3.00

--To have the following requirements for each career:

Biology and Environmental Sciences

  • Calculus I (4 credits)
  • Pass eight (8) credits in sciences with laboratories
    • General Biology I-II (4-4 credits)
    • College Physics I-II (4-4 credits)
    • Chemistry I-II (4-4 credits)

Chemistry

  • Calculus I (4 credits)\
  • Chemistry I-II (4-4 credits) passed with A or B

Computer Sciences

  • Calculus I ( 4 credits) passed with A or B
  • COMS 3020-Discrete Mathematics
  • COMS 3030-Fundamental Structures in Computer Sciences
  • Additional requirement:  Interview with Department Counselor

Interdisciplinary Sciences

  • Calculus I (4 credits)
  • Pass eight (8) credits in sciences with laboratories
  • Additional requirement:  Proposal for Interdisciplinary Courses
    • General Biology I-II (4-4 credits)
    • College Physics I-II (4-4 credits)
    • Chemistry I-II (4-4 credits)

Mathematics

  • Calculus I (4 credits) passed with A or B
  • Calculus II (4 credits) passed with A or B
  • Additional requirement:  Interview with Department Counselor

Dietetic and Nutrition

  • Pre-Calculus I-II ( 4 credits) or their equivalents
  • Chemistry I (4 credits)
  • General Biology I or II (4 credits)

Physic

  • GPA-General Point Average 2.50
  • Average Sciences and Mathematics 3.00
  • Calculus I (4 credits) passed with A or B
  • Calculus II (4 credits) passed with A or B
  • Additional requirement: Interview with Department Counselor
