Call for applicants for SMDP Biotech on June 4-9, 2016 in San Francisco, CA
International Center for Professional Development (ICPD) is seeking additional students from for the 2016 Scientist Mentoring & Diversity Program for Biotechnology (SMDP Biotech), see www.smdpbiotech.org
This year's program will begin with a 6-day training experience taking place, June 4-9, 2016 in San Francisco, California. Applicants must be post-baccalaureates or graduate students or post-docsinterested in careers in the biotech industry. Ideally they should be within a year of graduating. Their ethnicity must be African American, Native American, Hispanic American or Pacific Islander.
As part of the year-long mentoring program, SMDP Biotech Scholars will be paired with industry mentors. During their time in San Francisco, Scholars will be introduced to their mentors and will participate in a 3-day training session during which they will learn about career opportunities in industry and receive career development coaching. After the training session, Scholars and Mentors will attend a major biotechnology conference.
If selected to participate in the program, Scholars receive conference registrations, hotel accommodations, meals and up to $350 in travel reimbursements.
