Seven tenure-track openings at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor
Faculty Positions: The Department of Chemistry at the Río Piedras Campus of the University of Puerto Rico announces seven tenure-track openings at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to start in August 2013.
Requirements: Applicants must have a Ph.D., or equivalent degree, and post-doctoral experience. The positions are in the areas of analytical chemistry (2), biochemistry (2), inorganic chemistry (1), and physical chemistry (2). Preference will be given to candidates capable of developing strong interdisciplinary research programs emphasizing either of the following areas: bioanalytical or bioinorganic chemistry, bionanotechnology, biomaterials/nanoscience, development of separations with emphasis in mass spectrometry technologies, chemical biology with emphasis on proteomics, organometallic chemistry, protein crystallography, and either computational/theoretical physical chemistry or experimental physical chemistry. The successful candidate must also have a solid academic preparation or background in the areas of either analytical, biochemistry, inorganic chemistry, and/or physical chemistry and must also be committed to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Responsabilities: To teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and to conduct research and publish in their areas of specialty. To develop proposals seeking external funding. To participate actively in departmental activities and projects, as well as those at the College of Natural Sciences and the Río Piedras Campus. To fulfill all other obligations of a teaching job.
